Barbara Hilton was born in Eugene, Oregon but grew up in a Portland suburb and always attended a Presbyterian church. In college she transferred to Oregon State as a junior and met Gordon Hilton, who was just back from Vietnam, and also met his church, Corvallis 1st Baptist. She learned much at that church that had been missing before: sin, salvation and a personal relationship with Christ. She gratefully accepted Christ as her savior in the fall of 1972. Gordon and Barbara married in June of '74 and both graduated from OSU within a year. In February of 1977 they visited Jefferson Baptist Church, 4 months after Dee became the pastor, and they never went anywhere else. Gordon was one of Dee's first elders, Gordon and Barbara led an adult Sunday School for most of the years since then and often hosted a fellowship group.
In 1991 Barbara joined the staff at JBC as a secretary/receptionist. She enjoys hiking, travel and making family memories. At home, she prefers yardwork to housework!
