Jean Krause was born in Iowa, but raised on a dairy farm in Scio, OR. She was one of the charter members of Jefferson Baptist Church, where she started out with teaching Sunday School.
After teaching in the Salem Public Schools, Jean was instrumental in starting the Jefferson Christian School in 1979 as she taught the first Kindergarten Class. Subsequent classes were added, and the school now includes Preschool through Grade 12. She continued to teach in the school and also do secretarial work for the church.
Jean eventually became the full-time secretary at the church and continues in that position. She also teaches high school level writing and speech classes in the JBC Homeschool Electives Ministry
Jean enjoys leading women’s fellowship groups, hiking in the mountains with friends, enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes to share with others, and especially enjoys reading (having two or three books going at the same time).
