Patty Abel was raised in the Milton-Freewater, Oregon, area and came to the Willamette Valley for college. While finishing her BS degree in Business Education at OSU (go Beavs!), she married her husband Jon in 1988; lived in the McKenzie River/Blue River area, moved to Reedsport, then to Salem. Her family started attending Jefferson Baptist Church in 1998. After 20 years of homeschooling their four children through their high school years (an amazing journey), she worked four years as the administrative assistant to the CEO of a paint manufacturing company in Salem and then moved on to teach preschool at JBC in 2016 and also assist with coordinating classes for the homeschool ministry. She has since graduated to kindergarten in 2021 and continues to work in the JBC Homeschool Electives Ministry.
Throughout the 20+ years at JBC, Patty has participated in Children’s Ministry KidZone, Vacation Bible School and AWANA. She enjoys gardening, listening to music, playing with her grandkids and relaxing at the beach.
